All About Handmade Soy Tarts by Annette...

Welcome to my blog! I discovered soy tarts at a Fall festival where I purchased several of them. I was interested in them because they were cleaner to burn and more environmentally friendly. I wanted to purchase more, but was unable to locate the seller who made them. Therefore, I decided to teach myself how to make them! Since I love them so much, I wanted others to be able to enjoy the wonderful scents in their home as well! It has been proven that certain scents affect our moods and attitudes. What are soy tarts, you ask? Tarts are basically scented soy wax pieces that are placed in a tart burner/warmer. Most burners use a tealight candle underneath to heat the tart so it melts and disperses fragrance throughout your home. There are also plug-in warmers that use a small light bulb to do the same thing. So, why should you consider soy tarts?

• Soy wax is made from 100% pure soybeans
• Little or no heat is generated
• Soy wax is non-toxic
• Soy wax is environmentally friendly
• No carcinogens
• Little or no soot buildup
• Does not affect the color of walls like petroleum products
• It is water soluble
• Produces a sweet fragrance
• Holds a better fragrance than paraffin-based products
• Can be cleaned with soap and hot water

If you want a variety of scents, then soy tarts are the most economical solution. You simply place a soy tart on a warmer and enjoy hours of fragrance. Replace with a new scent as often as you wish!

I have tart burner kits as well! These make wonderful gifts for teachers, friends, co-workers, family members, etc. They are packaged beautifully and have everything you need to get started using soy tarts!

Regular tart burner kits range in price from $5-$15. These kits include the burner, 2 tarts, and 2 tealight candles.

Plug-in burner kits are $25. These include the burner and 2 tarts. The plug-in burners also double as a beautiful night light.

• Cinnamon - This scent is very spicy and fragrant, exactly like real cinnamon.
• Cinnamon & Balsam - Warm cinnamon with hints of balsam fir. A cozy winter blend; great for the holidays!
• Home for the Holidays - A pleasing blend of spruce, lightly sweetened bakery notes, spice, and candied fruits.
• Pear Spice - Jazz up your holidays with the aroma of juicy pears, warm brown sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, and a touch of cinnamon spice. A tantalizing holiday treat! 
• Pumpkin Souffle' - A deliciously buttery fall treat, Pumpkin Souffle includes the appealing scents of cinnamon, ginger, nutty pumpkin, and brown sugar, topped off with sweet vanilla custard cream, and orange peels for some extra zest.
• Purely Peppermint - A straight peppermint. Mint, mint, and more mint.
• Storm Watch - This popular fragrance is difficult to describe. It is a unique, clean fragrance with subtle floral and spice undertones.

Fruit and Citrus Scents:

• Black Raspberry Vanilla - A wonderful blend of sun-ripened blackberries and a creamy, smooth vanilla. Smells good enough to eat! Smells similar to Bath & Body Works' Black Raspberry Vanilla scent.
• Coconut Lime Verbena - Take zesty, tangy citrus lime and blend it with creamy coconut and you get an uplifting and energizing fragrance oil that we call Coconut Lime Verbena. This is a well-balanced blend that smells fantastic!
• Cool Citrus Basil - This is a zesty and clean fragrance infused with cool citrus and fresh basil leaves. Refreshing and energizing! This is similar to Bath & Body Works' Cool Citrus Basil scent.
• Cranberry Apple Marmalade - A festive blend of crisp apples, peaches, oranges, spiced cranberries, and cinnamon. Middle notes of black currant, cassis, clove, and vanilla spice add a sense of warmth to this delightful fragrance. Zesty, cozy and warming!
• Cranberry Citrus - A blend of tart cranberries, juicy red grapefruit, tangy tangerine, sweet orange, and lemon lime. A delightful fragrance. Nice for the holidays or as a refreshing spa scent.
•  Grapefruit - Smells just like a juicy bitter-sweet grapefruit!
• Jamaica Me Crazy - A refreshing blend of tempting tropical fruits with a twist of citrus and a hint of coconut.
• Macintosh Apple - This is perhaps the best apple fragrance I have ever smelled. Just like fresh, juicy Macintosh apples.
• Mango Papaya - Sweet, fruity, and tropical with a hint of citrus.
• Mulberry - Tart and fruity. Smells like a classic Fall/Winter scent of black mulberries.
• Orange - Juicy sweet orange slices with a hint of vanilla are perfect for a sunshiny day.
• Casaba Mist - Top notes of ozionic green cucumber with subtle notes of sweet mint and citrus. Middle notes include casaba melon, herbal greens, and soft florals with hints of lavender. Bottom notes of vanilla bean and musk complete the fragrance.
• Cucumber Melon - A mild, yet delightful sweet smelling fragrance. A wonderful combination of the coolness of cucumber with a delightfully sweet melon.
• Ginger Peach - A nice blend of juicy peach with a touch of ginger spice.
• Strawberry - Simple and pure, sweet and juicy sun fresh strawberries and sure to be a summer time favorite.
  
• Summer Orange Flower - This is a fresh fragrance reminiscent of sunny summer days. Blended with hints of neroli, orange blossoms, a splash of grapefruit and sweet summer coconut. This lovely scent just says Summer!

Flower and Perfume Scents:

• Birds of Paradise - A fantasy scent to compliment the exquisite beauty of the Bird of Paradise flower, found in tropical climates. A calming tropical blend of sweet strawberries, juicy pomegranate, creamy vanilla, and coconut milk with hints of rose petals and soft jasmine.
• Freesia - The sweet smelling floral fragrance is a wonderful springtime scent. The sharpness of freesia is balanced out nicely with just a hint of soft lilac.
• Jasmine - An alluring and sensual floral. The exotic aroma of jasmine helps evoke a romantic mood and is also known to be a stress reliever. Jasmine is delicate, sweet and flowery.
• Love Spell - This is a very romantic scent, mixing light fruit, citrus and florals. This is very similar to the Victoria's Secret scent.
• Country Garden - Like a fresh bouquet of flowers right from the garden. Delicate and flowery.
• Honeysuckle - This lovely, sweet smelling floral is very delicate and a great spring time scent.
• Lavender - The familiar lavender fragrance. Very pleasant, sweet and relaxing.
• Plumeria - A pleasantly sweet floral...soothing and relaxing.
• Moonlight Path - A sensual women's fragrance infused with lavender, violets and light musk. A Bath and Body Works type.

Sweet Scents:

• Creme Brulee - A rich dessert of cream, caramelized sugar, egg yolk, and a touch of vanilla.
• Vanilla Hazelnut - A smooth vanilla complimented with toasted hazelnuts. Cozy and warming.
• Warm Vanilla Sugar - This is very similar to the Bath & Body Works scent. An inviting blend of vanilla, coconut, sandalwood, fragrant basmati rice with hints of heliotrope flowers. A cozy fragrance.

Fresh and Clean Scents: 

• Breakfast at Tiffany's - Maple, sweet spices, coconut and vanilla accents on a crisp ozonic base of linen.
• Downy Fresh - Smells like April Fresh Downy.
• White Tea & Ginger - A wonderfully pleasant blend of delicate white tea mingled with fresh ginger. Similar to Bath & Body Works' scent. 
• Spring Rain - An awesome floral with a hint of spice. A light and relaxing spa type fragrance.
• Fresh Linen - A fresh, soft, powdery fragrance with delicate floral and citrus notes.
  
• Green Clover and Aloe - A cool, fresh green scent of aloe and green clover. 
• Sage and Lemongrass - A strong lemongrass/citrus fragrance with subtle sage notes.
